100th anniversary of the Greater Poland Uprising

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Many of us come from Wielkopolska (Greater Poland) and we knew that such an event should be appropriately commemorated. When the Marshal's Office of the Wielkopolska Province announced a competition for the logo and visual identity of the anniversary, we decided to do everything in our power. And we won! Our projects were highly praised by the jury and thus we had the honor of preparing a set of materials related to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Greater Poland Uprising.

VISUAL IDENTITY

We designed two logos: the first was a timeless one in the form of a flag to commemorate the Greater Poland Uprising, the second strictly related to the celebration of the 100th anniversary. For both logos, we prepared brand books describing in detail the rules of application, a common key visual, and on their basis we later implemented a number of ATL and BTL activities. The illustrator we worked with, Agata Marszałek, prepared a set of illustrations based on historical photos, which we later used for materials promoting the event.

BOARD GAME "DECEMBER 27"

While celebrating one of the earlier anniversaries of the Greater Poland Uprising, we designed a strategic board game, of both educational and historical value. Apart from fun, our goal was also to present the places, figures and historical events that we encounter on a daily basis (both in the current Wielkopolska and Kujawsko-Pomorskie provinces), and which had an impact on the course of the Wielkopolska Uprising. The game is distinguished by an attractive graphic form, with original graphics, prepared specially for this project. Both the graphics on the board and the drawings on the cards were prepared mainly on the basis of photographs from the period of the Greater Poland Uprising and photos from the reconstruction of these events.

BOOK CALENDAR

Another unique commission related to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Greater Poland Uprising was the concept and design of a jubilee book calendar. This was a lot of (extremely interesting!) work because we had to complete and acquire the rights to use photographs and archival materials from the times of the Uprising. We used them to prepare 12 historic interleaves about the Uprising itself and its heroes, as well as about the everyday life in Greater Poland at that time (with the invaluable help of Dr. Marek Rezler). On particular pages of the book calendar, on selected dates, we added interesting historical events from 100 years ago. The calendar was encased in an elegant red cloth cover with the logo we designed on top.
